  • Sometimes it’s a song stuck in your head, or randomly playing in the store. Sometimes it’s a lyric that you keep muttering to yourself because it feels like a lifeline in your day. Sometimes it’s a bit of news that makes your mind wander to better days. Sometimes it’s a simple pic and an instant smile on your face. These guys. This band. They seem to be always around in our daily life. We’re always on the lookout for the signs they - the universe? Karma? God? our crazy minds ? - drop. And when there are none, it feels almost weird. What is it with being a U2 fan? Why? How? Those are questions that come back relentlessly in your life. Every time you mention them. Every time you try to explain this whole fan thing. And you have your little speech prepared, all those facts, all that history, all those things that no-one really cares about because they can’t really relate? Maybe. More than anything it’s all about feelings. And yet, that’s the hardest part to explain. And then comes the whole die hard U2 fan thing. Taking it all a step further. Because it’s not just the music, the band, the tours or the community. It’s something more. It’s a part of your life. How is that possible? How do those 4 aging strangers have an impact on your daily life ? - because yeah, when you pause for a second and think about it, they do. It’s a bit crazy isn’t it ? But maybe all crazy isn’t that bad. What do U2 do to you today ? Trying to understand. You can call it a social experiment of sorts. Why and how did those dudes become a part of our lives ? And are. All the time. Why is U2 more than just a band. Why are those feelings way past a simple melody ? Maybe it will be absolutely boring and of no interest. Or maybe it will help us understand why we’re fans in the first place.

And the more complicated ones. Twitter thread. One thought a day. Feel free to add yours. As U2 fans we're experts at seeing signs everywhere, and the number of icono they used is definitely helping us with that. The tiniest things, like a giant lightbulb in a store bringing you a smile to listening to a song you've heard millions of times before spurring that big new revelation. It's a guide. That's what happened with book of your heart. Never try to understand the song, let is speak for itself but that song, that song haunts me, and I want to understand it. And that what spurs this whole nonsense. It made me realise that I've come to a point where I don't just wanna float along on the sound waves and let them carry me, I wanna understand why.
